Atharva NGO was founded in 2009 by parents of children with cerebral palsy who were frustrated by the lack of affordable specialized services. Today Atharva serves 2,000+ persons with various disabilities annually through 4 centres in Mumbai and Pune, offering therapy, education, vocational training, and livelihood support.
What we do
Running 4 day-care rehabilitation centers offering physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, special education, and psychological counseling to 500 children and adults with disabilities.
Skills assessment, job readiness training, employer engagement, and placement support for persons with disabilities seeking mainstream employment in the private sector.
Completed program procuring and distributing 1,500 wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, spectacles, and white canes to persons with disabilities from Below Poverty Line households.

May 2026
Our augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) program provided specialized devices and intensive therapy to 200 non-verbal children with autism and cerebral palsy. Within 6 months, 78% showed measurable improvement in communication. Families report transformative changes in quality of life and family relationships.
Jan 2026
In partnership with 35 corporates, our inclusive employment program trained and placed 120 persons with disabilities in regular employment. The program includes pre-placement training, employer sensitization, and 12-month post-placement support. Retention rate after 1 year stands at 84%.
